by David Suzuki

When: Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, 5:00 pm
Where: IUPUI - Campus Center, 4th Floor Multipurpose Room

Only the Brave is a gripping dramatization of the rescue of the "Texas Lost Batallion" by the Japanese American soldiers of the legendary 100/442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II. This movie is a searing portrait of war and prejudice, taking you on a haunting journey into the hearts and minds of those who lived it.

Lane Nishikawa wrote the screenplay, directed the movie, and plays the starring role. Other actors include Jason Lee, Pat Morita, and Tamlyn Tomita. Following the film, there will be a Q & A session with Lane Nishikawa. DVD copies of the film will be available for sale and signing before and after the film screening.

Admission is free, and seating is limited. This event will take place at the IUPUI Campus Center, Fourth Floor, Room 450, on Monday, February 23 at 5:OOpm. Enter the parking garage from Vermont, just west of the Campus Center which is located at 420 University Blvd. (W. Michigan St. & University Blvd) on the IUPUI campus in Indianapolis.

This film event is sponsored by IUPUI Asian Students United, Hoosier Chapter JACL, and IUPUI Campus & Community Life. We need your help getting the word out to the public. Please contact Elinor if you can help with publicity. We hope to have a good turnout for this worthwhile educational event for the community.
